About Rockville
Rockville is the county seat of Montgomery County,. According to the 2007 census update, the city had a total population of 58,706, making it the third largest city in Maryland.
Rockville is a suburb 12 miles North West of Washington, D.C. Rockville was settled in the 1760s, and was incorporated as a city in 1860. Rockville has several scientific research and technology laboratories that focus on the aerospace, electronics, nuclear energy, and communications industries. Rockville is home to the largest Biotech corridor in the US. The Food and Drug Administration is in Rockville, as is the main campus of Montgomery College.
